When fear speaks

I am naturally a very timid person. "It’s humiliating to say that", don’t you think? But I love to hide in the crowd. I prefer to wear a gray shirt not to be spot on. I wander around many times looking for a perfect place to sit and most times in the back row of  the room to avoid making contact with my tutor. I dash out immediately after church service to avoid a number of clamoring high fives. I will flush, if I heard too many congratulations in a row. I don’t know where I’d ranked when it comes to this, but I must be topping the chart.

What does God have for frightened people, those of us that thread the floor too carefully and afraid of ourselves so badly that we prefer to live as shadows in a real world? We are so battered of being rejected that we never apply. We are too tight in the road of timidity that we are afraid to share the gospel, say our mind, share our thoughts, and let anyone know our opinions. You will agree with me that we can’t achieve much or live on to our maximum potential, if we don’t resolve this fear.

Matt 14:28-32, "Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

What I got to know and what you need to know about fear.

Fear speaks to your sense of reasoning. Fear finds excuse. Fear sees wrong and talks about the least. Fear counts the weakest and ends on the smallest. Fear makes you doubt. No wander, Peter sank at the sight of the blustering wind.

But do you know that God knows all about our weaknesses. He gave us '365 Fear Not' for every day in our year. When you wake up to fear, or the thoughts of fear drowns you. Speak His word. He promised to be be with us alwaysAnd if suddenly you get hit by fear, remember that He is there with you. He says, Peace! He says aloud, do not be afraid! In fact, you are not going to die, if you try. So make that step; take that turn. Don’t try to justify, re-confirm, throw fleece or sink in fear like Peter. Just trust him.

Now, I wear the brightest of dresses and its superb to outlive my fears daily. When fear raises that his ugly head, I revisit His word of assurance. So step out too and live optimally.

The question now is, "What will you do if all your fears are allayed? As many as they are, begin ticking them one by one. For me, I will write as many books as possible, knowing all to well that they will all be read.
